No, Thank you Politicians

Every day I have a message or two from a politician wanting my vote. All I have to say is,
“Where have you been all year?” I haven’t heard a peep from any of these guys since the last election, but suddenly it’s important that they talk to me and that I HEAR their message.

The attention they seek – a little time for me to vote – feels like they’re wanting a one night stand time of thing, and frankly, after they’ve ignored me for months, I’m not interested. If they’d put in as much effort communicating with me AFTER the last election, I might care what they have to say just before the current election.

And it doesn’t escape my notice that erection and election only differs by one letter.
