I was in a nice paint store a few months ago. I wandered over to their “mistakes” table. They had 3 cans of yellow paint on sale for $1.00. I asked what was wrong with it and the store employee said nothing – it just wasn’t the color the customer wanted after it was mixed up. I have a couple bar stools and have peacock blue padded seats and backs that I got from Goodwill. I envisioned painting the flaking wood on them (after sanding them) with the paint.
After I got home, I noticed an old blue desk that is solid wood. Someone gave it to me years ago and it was painted white. When my youngest son was a teenager, he painted it blue and put it in his room. I decided to use some of that paint on the old blue desk.
Two days ago I had my oldest son drag the old desk out of the utility room where it sat gathering dust. I washed it this morning to prepare it for painting. My son said he’d paint it, if I wanted him to.
I just went out to see how it was going. I had no idea it would look so nice! He’s not quite through with the first coat, but it looks excellent. I’ll post some pictures when it’s all done. I took some before, during and will take after pictures.
What a beautiful desk!
